| GRADUA2 PROJECT JUSTIFICATION OF RELEVANCE OF PROJECT
Systematic graduate follow-up is a key element for improving educational quality, since any information obtained through this activity is very useful for:
- Evaluating institutional results related to graduate and employer preparation and satisfaction, so as to:
| a) |
|
Improve curricula. |
| b) |
|
Improve graduates’ employability. |
- Supporting graduates in finding employment.
- Orientation in making decisions in different areas:
| a) |
|
Degree selection by new students and their families. |
| b) |
|
Public policy planning for guiding, through resource assignment, the right to study. |
Despite this, the majority of universities do not have systematic graduate follow-up programs (while the majority of companies devote at least 1% of their budget to researching and analyzing the results of their activities).
The absence of this tradition can be explained by motives such as the amount of funds involved in this type of program, the lack of motivation on the part of graduates to answer surveys, and even a certain lack of academic interest in the results of the educational processes.
This project creates the conditions for, on the one hand, comparing different methodologies and experiences with graduate follow-up and, on the other, systemizing and publicizing the results, thus awakening the interest of the universities who do not have regular programs in this area.
